Today was Kagami Biraki. We eat Kagami Mochi, one of New Year’s decorations on this day. The 2 tired white round portion is edible mochi (though I’m not sure if this particular decoration was real. I forgot to take a photo at home) – Japan

I think it’s called almond tofu or jelly in English? It’s not really tofu, only the texture is tofu-like. Light and delicious – Japan
