Tonjiru

Today’s lunch was a big bowl of Tonjiru.

Tonjiru is a very hearty pork and vegetable miso soup. Typical vegetables include burdock root, taro, carrots, daikon, mushrooms, green onions, konnyaku (yam cake?), tofu and/or fried tofu. Ultimate comfort food – Japan

Art appreciation day

I’ve come across this artist online a few years ago and finally had an opportunity to see his work in person. Unfortunately photos weren’t allowed in most areas so this is all I was able to take. Look up ‘Riusuke Fukahori’ on YouTub to watch him create his amazing art – Japan
